🔥 3 Core Builds

Build Guides

Choose your playstyle: relentless aggression, precise counter-play, or adaptable hybrid. Every build includes weapon combos, Sha-Chi strategy, and boss matchups.

Offensive Hard

Aggressive Chi Rush

Constant pressure through bleed stacking and high-damage combos. Burns through Sha-Chi fast but punishes mistakes heavily.

Playstyle Summary

The Aggressive Chi Rush build is all about overwhelming your opponent with relentless offense. You spend Sha-Chi as fast as you generate it, using bleed stacks (Jagged Steel) to apply constant pressure while the Savage Axe punishes any opening with massive stagger damage. This build excels in quick, decisive fights but leaves little room for error.

Recommended Weapons

Jagged Steel (Primary)

Fast sword with bleed buildup. Build your Sha-Chi quickly while stacking damage-over-time on the boss.

Savage Axe (Primary Swap)

Massive two-handed damage. Switch to this when the boss is staggered for maximum punishes.

Shadow Chakram (Phantom Edge)

Boomerang projectile to hit enemies at range while closing distance. Great for maintaining pressure.

Sha-Chi Management

Spend fast, generate faster. With Jagged Steel's rapid hits, you'll generate Sha-Chi quickly. Don't hoard it -- spend bars on Savage Axe heavy attacks and Phantom Edge abilities the moment they're available. The goal is to keep the boss constantly reacting.
  • Open with Jagged Steel light combos to build 3-4 Sha-Chi bars
  • Swap to Savage Axe for a charged heavy attack (spends 3 bars)
  • Use Shadow Chakram while at range to chip and build bar again
  • Don't hold Sha-Chi longer than 5 seconds -- every bar not spent is damage lost

Snake SovereignGoodFast strikes match pace, bleed stacks drain fast

Ogre Hammer LordNeutralDodge-heavy fight makes sustained pressure harder
Defensive Medium

Defensive Parry Master

Counter-focused gameplay built around extended parry frames. Drains enemy Sha-Chi while preserving your own for precise counter-attacks.

Playstyle Summary

The Defensive Parry Master build rewards patience and timing. With the Venomous Softblade's extended parry windows, you can consistently deflect Brutal Moves (Blue Flash) and drain the enemy's Sha-Chi. This build excels in long, multi-phase boss fights where survival matters more than burst damage.

Recommended Weapons

Venomous Softblade (Primary)

Extended parry frames make this the best counter weapon. Successful parries drain enemy Sha-Chi.

Bow of Silent Wind (Phantom Edge)

Ranged poke to build Sha-Chi safely. Charged shots punish enemies during their recovery frames.

Blood Sigil (Phantom Edge)

Heals 15% HP on next hit. Critical sustain for long fights where you're trading blows.

Sha-Chi Management

Let them come to you. Parrying enemy Brutal Moves generates bonus Sha-Chi for you while draining theirs. Your goal is a resource advantage -- when the enemy has no Sha-Chi, they enter a vulnerable state where you unload safely.
  • Hold defensive posture, wait for Blue Flash attacks
  • Parry to reflect damage and drain 1-2 enemy Sha-Chi bars per parry
  • Use Bow of Silent Wind to poke during neutral, building your bars
  • When enemy is Sha-Chi depleted, swap to offensive combo with your stored bars

Inverse HeavenGoodDefensive posture helps manage two bosses at once
Ogre Hammer LordGoodDust attacks are Brutal Moves, easy parries
Snake SovereignBadFast Killer Moves are harder to distinguish, takes practice
Hybrid Medium

Hybrid Flex

Adaptable all-rounder build with mid-range crowd control and burst potential. Effective against any boss type with room for adjustment.

Playstyle Summary

The Hybrid Flex build doesn't specialize -- it adapts. White Python & Red Viper give you rapid multi-hit combos for building Sha-Chi, Dragon Fire provides mid-range burst, and you keep your options open to respond to any boss pattern. This is the recommended build for first playthroughs.

Recommended Weapons

White Python & Red Viper (Primary)

Twin blades with the highest hit rate in the game. Generates Sha-Chi faster than any other weapon.

Dragon Fire (Secondary)

Arm cannon with charged piercing shots. Excellent for punishing boss recovery frames from a safe distance.

Thunderbolt Shard (Phantom Edge)

Lightning AoE burst for clearing adds or staggering bosses during their wind-up.

Sha-Chi Management

Options are your resource. With three different Sha-Chi spenders (Dragon Fire charged shots, Thunderbolt Shard burst, and Twin Blade Power Surge), you have the right tool for every situation. Read the boss and pick the spender that fits.
  • Build 4-5 Sha-Chi bars with White Python & Red Viper multi-hits
  • Use Dragon Fire charged shot for 3 bars of safe ranged damage
  • Save Thunderbolt Shard (2 bars) for emergency stagger when boss is about to attack
  • Swap between ranged and melee as the fight dictates -- never over-commit

Advanced Build Tips

Weapon Swap Mid-Combo

You can cancel recovery frames by swapping weapons. Practice the Jagged Steel 3-hit into Savage Axe charged attack for maximum burst.

Phantom Edge Rotation

Equip one offensive and one utility Phantom Edge. Rotate between them to keep both off cooldown and maximize uptime.

Boss-Specific Gear

Some bosses are weak to specific weapon types. Check our Boss Strategies page for detailed weaknesses before committing to a build.
